Leonie Serman, M.S.W, R.S.W, President
Besides being the President and Co-Founder of Q Inc., Leonie Serman is A.A.M.F.T. certified (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy) as well as a licensed practitioner with the Canadian Clinical Hypnosis Association. She was trained alongside the FBI and CIA by Jeffery Mitchell, PhD. CTS and president of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (CISD). Leonie has studied in the US and Canada, and worked extensively in South Africa, the United Kingdom and across Canada in the field of workplace conduct and psychotherapy.
Glenn French M.S.W, R.S.W, Vice President
Toronto (Central Region)
In addition to his position as Vice President of Q Inc., Glenn French is the President and CEO of the Canadian Initiative on Workplace Violence (CIWV). Mr. French has over 30 years experience in the field of industrial mental health, having held senior administrative and clinical position within both the private and public sectors. He is nationally recognized for his research and work, which addresses workplace conduct, violence and the impact of occupational health on safety and productivity.
Don Lasell, M.A. Counselling, Employee Assistance Consultant
Vancouver (Pacific Region)
Don Lasell is a Registered Clinical Counselor representing Q Inc. in British Columbia. He specializes in working with individuals, couples and families around a wide range of complex concerns. His areas of special interest include depression, parenting, relationships, stress and self-esteem.
As an accomplished trainer and speaker, Don offers workshops on a variety of work-related topics such as stress, managing troublesome behaviour and how to balance work and family.
Don has served as a peer reviewer for the Council on Accreditation.
Patrick McLaughlin, M. A. Counseling, Employee Assistance Consultant
Quebec (Capital Region, Quebec and Eastern Canada)
Patrick McLaughlin represents Q inc. in Quebec, the Capital Region and Eastern Canada.
Patrick is an international educator having worked in Zambia and Europe, before immigrating to Canada where he operates a thriving clinical and organizational consultancy in Montreal. He is a former senior staff member of the Head Trauma Team at Constance-Lethbridge Rehabilitation Center in Montreal. In addition, Patrick is an accredited divorce mediator and certified Substance Abuse Professional in compliance with the Department of Transportation requirements.
Beverley Abbott, BSW, MA, Employee Assistance Consultant
Edmonton (Western Canada)
Beverley is a seasoned and highly experienced Employee Assistance Counsellor representing Q Inc. in Central Alberta. She is a seasoned Addictions Counsellor with over 12 years experience with the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission (AADAC) as a clinical supervisor. While with AADAC she designed, implemented, and evaluated a treatment program specifically geared to the needs of addicted woman, and toured extensively throughout Canada presenting on the experience. As a result, she was hired by Corrections Canada to develop a treatment program for implementation in all the women’s correctional facilities across Canada.
Dayle Bruce M.A., Registered Psychologist, EAP Consultant
Calgary (Western Canada/Fort McMurray)
Dayle Bruce represents Q Inc in Western Canada and Fort McMurray. As a Registered Psychologist, Dayle brings with her extensive professional experience in the field of addictions, having worked for AADAC in a number of capacities. Of note, Dayle was the Commission’s Learning Consultant responsible for all aspects of professional development, in recognition of her many years as an Addictions Counsellor. Dayle is personally familiar with the unique environments of the north having worked as an Addictions Counsellor in both Fort McMurray and the Yukon. She is a Certified Resiliency and “True Colours” Facilitator and brings this interest to her many workshops and seminars, ranging from “Anger Management” to “Diversity in the Workplace”. Dayle routinely consults and is an organizational coach to leaders at all levels of an organization.
